Apr 16, 2018Dubas, 85, of Columbus died Thursday, June 18, 2015 at Brookestone Acres in Columbus.Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Anthony Catholic Church. 562 17th Ave. in Columbus. A vigil will be at 7 p.m. Monday at the church. Interment will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery in Columbus. Lunch will be served at the Eagle’s Club following the service.Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at the church. Visitation will continue Tuesday morning from 8 to 10 a.m. at McKown Funeral Home.Frank T. Dubas was born July 4, 1929 in rural western Nance County, to Frank and Frances (Shefcyk) Dubas.Frank is survived by his devoted loving wife of 63 years, Phyllis Dubas of Columbus; five daughters and sons-in-law, Diann and Ed Herdzina of Columbus, Karen and Ken Prososki of Fullerton, Mary and Al Kluever of Columbus, Donna and Mike Gray of Columbus and Teresa and Mark Roberts of Columbus; four sons and daughters-in-law, Jim and Diana Dubas of Columbus, Jerry and Renee Dubas of Ulysses, Jay and Leanne Dubas of Duncan and Duane and Cheryl Dubas of Lincoln; a daughter-in-law, Suzy Dubas of Columbus; 46 grandchildren and 64 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Anne Bialas of Fullerton and Leona Kozak of Columbus; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Emil and Katherine Dubas of Palmer, Dan and Betsy Dubas of Columbus, and Larry and Bonnie Dubas of Grand Island; and six sister-in-laws, Minnie, Mildred, Joann, Marge and Florence Dubas, and Pam Citta.He attended Mt. Zion District 40 School until he completed the eighth grade. Frank farmed with his family. He was united in marriage to Phyllis McKenzie on Oct. 30, 1951, in Wolbach.They farmed and milked dairy cows. In 1968, Frank took a home study course in refrigeration so he could work on his own equipment which eventually led him to starting his own business, Dubas Refrigeration.The family moved to Columbus in 1979 where he worked out of his garage alongside his sons who eventually took over the business, of which he was very proud.
